Sanya is situated on the southernmost tip of Hainan Province and for anyone who is on a China tour and is looking for a beautiful Chinese beach, this is definitely the place to come!
The view of bright sunshine, blue water and wide beaches at Sanya attracts many regular visitors on a China tour from both home and abroad, year after year. It is said that Sanya has the most beautiful beaches in all of China and is a renowned Chinese destination for those looking for a mild climate and fresh air. Sanya is known as the “Oriental Hawaii”.
About twenty four kilometres from the centre of Sanya City, the discerning traveller on a China tour will find Tianya Haijiao, which literally means “edge of the sky, rim of the sea”. Here, this Chinese resort offers a bay of great beauty with blue sky, soft golden sand and crystal clear sea. There are also other lovely bays around Sanya offering differing natural beauties to the visitors to this Chinese resort.
Besides the beautiful beaches of Sanya there are other attractions for those on holiday in China. About forty kilometres to the west of Sanya City is the Nanshan Temple. This is the most famous Buddhist temple in Hainan Province and stands in a stunning position, surrounded by mountains and facing the South Sea. For those visitors on a Chinese tour package in the area, this beautiful temple will probably be part of the itinerary. For those who are independent travellers in China and wish to visit this temple, help may be sought from China travel guides or from local China travel agents.
There are also additional destinations in Sanya that are worthy of a visit. Luhuitou Park is to be found on Luhuitou Hill, about five kilometres south of Sanya City. Here the visitor to this beautiful Chinese resort may obtain a panoramic view of the city and, perhaps, discover the truth about the legend of the brave hunter and the deer.
