Are all your Chinese paintings originals?

Yes, all of our Chinese paintings are originals. Each painting on this website is a hand-painted one-of-a-kind.

Are they all traditional Chinese paintings?

We have both traditional and contemporary Chinese paintings. See traditional paintings in the traditional gallery rooms and the bargain basement. See contemporary paintings in the contemporary gallery rooms.

Are the paintings framed?

Unless otherwise stated all of our paintings are framed within ornate silk brocade and scolled onto a scroll pin ready to hang.

Are they painted onto paper, silk or what?

Unless otherwise stated all our Chinese paintings are painted onto Xuan paper. Xuan (pron. "zwan") paper is made from rice (but not "rice paper" as we would normally think of it) and is the traditional Chinese painting material. In China Xuan paper is well known for it's anti-aging quality as it can last for hundreds of years. If a painting is not painted on Xuan paper then it is painted onto silk.

What kind of paint is used?

Traditional Chinese paints are used. Strictly speaking it's not paint as it's water based paints colored with vegetable dyes mixed together with certain types of inks.

How experienced are the artists ?

Very experienced. All the artists have been painting for a minimum of 15 years and in some cases over 60 years. They are members of many prestigious painting associations and have won many awards. You will find links to biographies of some of the artists next to paintings in our main galleries.

If I order a Chinese painting now how long will it take to deliver?

If you place your order today your Chinese painting will arrive within 72 hours (excluding weekends). If you live outside North America, Europe or Australasia please inquire.

What delivery method is used?

Delivery is by a leading courier (usually DHL or FedEx).

How secure is your online credit card payment system?

SSL encryption is used. This means no person actually gets to see your credit card details. This is now generally accepted to be more secure than off-line credit card transactions. More details.

I don't want to pay by credit card - can I pay by another method?

Yes, we accept payment by bank to bank wire, international money order and personal check. More details

What does the price include?

Everything, there's nothing else to pay (unless you have any local taxes). The prices next to the paintings include the painting itself, it's delivery within 72 hours of ordering and all insurance costs.

Can I pay in a currency other than US Dollars?

Yes, you can pay in almost any currency that you want. If you're paying by credit card your credit card issuer will automatically convert the Dollar price into your local currency. On most of our pages you will find a currency converter to check the exact price in your local currency. This is updated every minute.

What guarantee do I have?

An unconditional guarantee. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your painting you may return it within 60 days and either claim a full refund or exchange it for another painting. We pride ourselve on providing high quality Chinese art combined with excellent customer service
